ZulaJamz
Before the Zula Den became a physical center, there was ZulaJamz — the heartbeat that started it all. What began as a series of vibrant, cozy jam sessions quickly evolved into a community movement. Led by our soulful house band and a rotating collective of guest musicians, every session was an exercise in pure presence. With a captive audience soaking in the positive vibrations, these nights became a space where improvisation turned into flight. After a brief intermission to focus on building our new home, ZulaJamz made a triumphant return in April 2026. To lead this new era, we partnered with Guy Azoulay as our Musical Director. A powerhouse drummer and a fixture in the Los Angeles music scene, Guy was the natural choice to helm our weekly sessions. Between his undisputed talent and his natural gift for connecting people, he has breathed fresh life into the jam, making every session an unforgettable experience.
Warehouse Jamz
Change of scenery! Before we had a permanent front door, Chris and Eldad were already busy transforming unconventional spaces into soulful sanctuaries. This shot from February 2019 captures the Alfi Trade Inc. warehouse being reimagined as a makeshift stage. At its core, Zula is a reflection of Chris’s artistic vision. She has always possessed a natural ability to curate environments that don't just host guests, but hold them. It’s what defines the Zula experience. This photo from July 2018 shows the very first setup under the backyard pergola, the birthplace of the aesthetic that would eventually become the Den.
It All Started Under the Stars
Over a decade later, the duo brought that same hosting magic to their own home, transforming their backyard into a true oasis for sound. Long before the Den, Chris and Eldad were already busy building community, starting with backyard sessions in 2005 at Eldad’s family home garden in Larchmont Village. Which came to be known as The Zula between friends because this is what Eldad's mother named her zen garden oasis. This photo is from one of the first jamz ever. Featuring Aviv Hadari the former musical director who helped manage the artists and run the stage for many years after its inception.
